Meet Yvette Temple
Founder and Lead Consultant
Yvette Temple is a seasoned literacy specialist and educational consultant with three decades of experience supporting students, teachers, and school leaders in achieving meaningful literacy growth. As the founder of Dystined2Shine Educational Consulting, she partners with schools nationwide to design and implement research-based literacy systems that improve instructional clarity, strengthen teacher practice, and accelerate student outcomes—particularly for middle school learners.
Yvette’s work is grounded in a clear philosophy: literacy instruction in the middle grades must be intentional, explicit, and responsive to the unique needs of adolescent learners. She believes that struggling readers are not “behind”—they are often underserved by systems that assume foundational skills are already in place. Her approach bridges foundational literacy with grade-level content, equipping educators with practical, evidence-based strategies that can be implemented immediately in real classrooms.
Throughout her career, Yvette has led professional learning, coaching cycles, and large-scale literacy initiatives across diverse school settings. She has served as an educational consultant where she delivered high-impact professional development, supported implementation of literacy programs, and partnered with district leaders to drive measurable results. Her work consistently reflects strong outcomes, including significant reading gains among students in the lowest quartile, including English Language Learners and students with exceptionalities.
Yvette is known for her ability to translate the Science of Reading into practical, actionable instruction that teachers can use immediately. Her leadership focuses on building sustainable systems—not one-time solutions—so that schools can move from fragmented practices to aligned, coherent literacy instruction across classrooms.
